She Said: “You Can Do Better”

A few weeks ago, I was having lunch with my kids — just a normal day, nothing profound.

And then this happened…

My daughter, who’s home from college, looked up between bites and said,
“Hey Dad… I was browsing your website the other day.”

I smiled. “Yeah?”
She paused… “I think you can do better.”

Oof.

I raised an eyebrow. “Really?”
She didn’t flinch. “Yes. It’s good. But you always say you go for great.”

I gulped. “Okay... talk to me.”

The Gut Punch I Needed

She laid it out:

· Too many words.

· Not enough visual energy.

· Not enough places to click or feel the mission.

· And worst of all…“It doesn’t really bring people into your story, Dad.”

That one hit.

Because she was right.
And I knew it.

Somewhere between building, coaching, editing videos, recording podcasts, writing articles, and running a business —
I’d started just doing.
Moving fast.
And losing the very thing I help others find: clarity with purpose.

The Promise I Made to Myself

When I started this journey a year ago, I made a promise:
That I’d roll up my sleeves and learn every part of the process —
from building the website to editing the videos to managing the socials.

And I did.

But there’s also wisdom in knowing when to let go and level up.
When to say:
This needs to evolve.
This needs expert hands.
This needs outside eyes — and honest ones.

And that day, the most honest voice came from across the table.

So I Got to Work

I listened.
I hired a web development team.
And I went to work, not just on a website —
but on reclaiming the clarity of what this all is.

And today, I’m proud to say…
The new site is live.

It’s clean.
It’s bold.
It reflects the mission I’ve spent years fighting for —
to elevate leadership, inspire impact, and help others build lives they’re proud of.

A few days ago, I sent my daughter a little something.

She called me, surprised.
“Dad… what’s this for?”

I said,
“You gave me a valuable service.
Your feedback helped me level up something important —
and that deserves to be recognized.”

She paused… then laughed:

“Really?
Can I give you more feedback?” 🤣

The Real Takeaway

That’s what this whole journey is about.

Leading with heart.
Listening with humility.
And knowing that sometimes…
the person who pushes you forward isn’t a client or a coach —
but someone you raised.
